5th Anniversary!

So this post is going to be more about my hubby and our anniversary than baby news… but I couldn't help but share it. So today is our 5 year anniversary (crazy how fast time goes) and when I got home from work yesterday, Brad told me he had something he wanted to give me. He said he was going to wait until today to give it to me, had a whole plan worked out, but just couldn't wait. So in the cute way Brad is, he gives me this gift, wrapped so nicely (in christmas paper… in his defense that is all we had) with even the ribbon curled. I had not a clue what it could be because there wasn't anything I had asked for (or expected)… since we don't usually do much in the way of gifts for our anniversary.

So when I open it, it is an awesome wood jewelry box with a picture of Brad and the dogs on the top. Inside was a beautiful diamond heart necklace with the word "Mom" on it. I was pretty much speechless… I wasn't expecting anything and this was beyond sweet. On top of the gift itself, Brad told me that the "5 year anniversary gift" is something made of wood. (Hence the wood jewelry box). I had no clue, but he researched and found out! Wow, what a terrible wife I am… hehe! And as for the necklace, he said that they had matching necklaces that said "Daughter" on it. He said that we could go together and pick out a necklace to give our "coming soon" baby girl. I mean seriously… how sweet and adorable is that! I was so blown away! It just reminded me of how incredible of a husband I have… and how much he already loves his baby girl! (ok… I'm on the verge of crying right now… the tears are coming– darn pregnancy!)

23 weeks_and growing fast!

Its hard to believe I'm 23 weeks already… I seriously can't believe how these weeks seem to just fly by. With the holidays coming up, I can only imagine how quickly March is going to be here! Exciting… and yet a little scary at the same time! When you are expecting a baby, you always seem to talk in future tense… like "ohh i can't wait until she is here" and "we have time to get the nursery ready"… but really she is going to BE HERE in no time! That "future" time period is getting smaller and smaller! And as each week passes, I get more and more excited to meet her! The nursery is slowly but surely coming along. We haven't actually started putting any of it together yet, but we are accumulating the different pieces/decorations. Brad's mom got in the fabric so she can start making the curtains, bumper pad cover and hanging diaper storage. I have bought all the pieces i need for my "less than $10" lamps. I found the bases at Goodwill, pink lamp shades at Walmart and then my mom picked up cute black/white ribbon to put around the base of the shade. (see the picture) I think they will look adorable when they are done! My parents are almost done refinishing my old dresser to become a dresser/changing table and Brad's parents have the crib at their house. I suppose pretty soon I should actually start clearing out the room that will become Baby K's room… right now it is being used as a christmas present wrapping station!

So as for Baby K, so is growing fast… and moving A LOT! I just went to the doctor on monday, and my growing belly is just the size it should be… her heart beat is strong as ever… and overall we are both in great health! (thank goodness!) Its amazing how much more I feel her kick and move around now than just a couple weeks ago. She is especially active late at night (like 11 or so), early in the morning and the middle of the day. It really is quite amazing to feel it! I keep trying to get brad to feel it… but I swear everytime i have him put his hand on my belly to feel it… so decides to stop moving! Stubborn… just like her daddy! hehe… (J/K babe… love you!)

Little by little we are gaining a wardrobe for our little princess… and if what we have so far is any indication, she will be quite the fashionable little girl! I posted some pics of outfits we have picked up recently… just because they were so darn cute! Enjoy!

Finally felt it!

So this weekend I hit a milestone in my pregnancy… not only am I half way through my pregnancy, but I FINALLY felt our little girl kick! I was almost in shock when I first felt it! Thank goodness she kicked a few more times for me so I could be sure!!! I woke Brad us when I felt it to tell him and have him try to feel it… but of course she was being stubborn and wouldn't kick for him (she takes after her father! hehe) But I have to tell you… everyone tells you how amazing it is to feel your baby kick… and man where they right! Its so unreal! It make it just that much more of a realization that there is a little human growing in there and moving around! I can't wait to hold and touch those adorable little feet and hands that I feel in my belly!

On a different note, I'm getting very excited and anxious to put the nursery together. I think I finally decided on some fabrics that Brad's mom is going to use for the bumper pads, curtains and hanging diaper holder. I also already bought the rug and lamps (black bases/light pink shades), and my parents bought the changing pad/cover that is going to go on the dresser that they are refinishing! I can't wait to show all of you what it looks like when it is done! I think my parents are going to come down in the next couple weeks to get started on the painting of the room and getting things set up! If it turns out how I envision it… its going to be adorable!
